Captain Jack Kennedy, commander of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, told local media on Wednesday that Tuscaloosa Police responded on Monday to the 1900 block of 29th Avenue after a reported stabbing of a woman.

Kennedy said Anthony Eubanks, 57, was identified as a suspect after the victim stated that she and Eubanks argued over his proposed sexual advance. She then informed police that the argument spilled over onto the front porch of the residence.

"At some point during the altercation, the victim was cut on the shoulder with a knife or sharp instrument and received an injury," Kennedy said. "After interviewing the victim, witnesses, and processing the scene, a warrant was obtained for Eubanks for Assault 2nd degree."

Kennedy went on to say that Eubanks was located and arrested Monday night, before being booked into the Tuscaloosa County Jail, where his bond was set at $15,000.

Kennedy also said Eubanks was already on bond for a previous attempted murder charge last July, where he was also accused of stabbing an individual.

"His bond on that charge has been revoked, and he is being held without bond," Kennedy said.
