"She was ordered to drop the weapon and was taken into custody," Sellers said.
Sellers went on to say Natasha Gordon, 40, is suspected of shooting an acquaintance — a 60-year-old male.
The victim reportedly suffered injuries not believed to be life-threatening. He was treated at a local hospital following the shooting and released shortly thereafter.
"Prior to him leaving her residence they had a physical struggle during which her dog was injured," Sellers explained. "It is unclear who initially possessed the gun. The male victim left the residence and was walking away when he was shot."
Gordon was charged with first-degree assault and booked into the Tuscaloosa County Jail, where her bond was set at $10,000.
