UA To Hold Fall Commencement Saturday

Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, UA says extensive precautions will be taken to meet standards and public health guidelines.

TUSCALOOSA, AL. — The University of Alabama on Thursday announced plans to hold fall commencement exercises Saturday at Coleman Coliseum.

Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, UA says extensive precautions will be taken to meet physical distancing guidelines and health and safety standards as four different ceremonies are set to take place throughout the day. Commencement is expected to see 2,000 graduates in attendance.

UA pointed out that the ceremonies are ticketed events and each graduate may invite up to four guests.

Masks will be required for attendance and UA will have sanitizing stations throughout the coliseum, with the venue being cleaned between all ceremonies.

The graduating class will include 30 student-athletes from eight sports and 11 Alabama football players. UA also said Mac Jones, Najee Harris, Slade Bolden, Phidarian Mathis, Dylan Moses, Christopher Allen, Hunter Brannon, Kendall Randolph, LaBryan Ray, Brian Robinson and Major Tennison are expected to participate in the 6 p.m. ceremony after Saturday’s game at Arkansas.
