UA also said the cost per child to attend the RISE Program five days a week has exceeded $20,000, which raises the need for funding initiatives like the tournaments, despite receiving funding from UA, an endowment and contracts with local school system.
There are eight RISE programs across the country and the UA RISE Center is the only program that does not charge tuition to families with children who have special needs.
All children needing therapy services continue to attend RISE Center at no cost.
RISE Tournament of Champions prizes include televisions, paddle boards, travel golf bags, golf hand warmers, a Top Golf experience, football helmets and footballs autographed by UA Head Football Coach Nick Saban, and other Alabama-related memorabilia will be awarded to the top three teams with the best gross and net scores.
