VA Clinic Opens Satellite Office For UA Community

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — In partnership with the Division of Student Life and the Tuscaloosa Veterans Affairs Medical Center, The University of Alabama opened a new VA satellite clinic in Capital Hall on the UA campus.

The Division of Student Life donated $75,000 to help open the clinic, while an additional $75,000 was donated by the Alabama Marines Foundation, the Campus Veterans Association, and David and Linda Ford.

The clinic offers support to UA faculty, staff and students who are veterans and eligible for VA health care. Brad Campbell, assistant director of Veteran and Military Affairs, said the opening of the clinic further supports veterans and active-duty military personnel who study or work at UA.

“The Alabama Marines Foundation Veteran and Military Health Clinic will give VA eligible UA students, faculty and staff a convenient location for routine health care with minimal impact on their schedules,” Campbell said.

The satellite office will be open on Mondays for health care appointments from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Medical staff from the Tuscaloosa VA Medical Center will see patients for regular check-ups and exams.
