Vehicle Theft Suspects Charged After Crash On Skyland Boulevard Monday
The Tuscaloosa Police Department has charged two men in connection with a stolen vehicle following a multi-vehicle crash on Skyland Blvd.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Tuscaloosa Police Department has charged two men in connection with a stolen vehicle following a multi-vehicle crash on Skyland Boulevard Monday afternoon.

TPD said in a press release on Tuesday that its Criminal Investigations Division received information that a truck stolen in Tennessee had been spotted at Branscomb Apartments.

When investigators responded to the complex in the 600 block of 61st Street at 1:20 p.m., they reportedly approached two suspects, before both men jumped into a car and headed north on Alabama Highway 69.
TPD says the driver turned east onto Skyland Boulevard and crashed into another vehicle, which struck a third vehicle.

Fortunately, no one was seriously injured in the crash, but one vehicle occupant was transported to DCH Regional Medical Center for treatment.
TPD went on to say that the two men abandoned the car and attempted to escape, but were quickly apprehended in the parking lot of Tuscaloosa Plaza shopping center.
What's more, investigators reportedly recovered marijuana and a stolen pistol from the suspect’s crashed car.
Keshawn Martez McCollough, 26, of Greensboro, has been charged with first-degree receiving stolen property and attempting to elude police. His bond was set at $36,000.
The other suspect — Frederick Dewayne Lewis, 20, of Moundville — was charged with first-degree receiving stolen property, second-degree receiving stolen property for the pistol, first- degree possession of marijuana and attempting to elude. Lewis has not yet had his bond set.
