TUSCALOOSA, AL — A Tuscaloosa County man with a violent criminal history was charged with murder Thursday after the body of his former girlfriend was found in a vehicle off of Highway 82 in Duncanville Wednesday.
The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit identified the victim as Syibrieka Underwood, 27, who was found in the vehicle's passenger seat, dead of an apparent gunshot wound after a state trooper was the first emergency responder to the scene on the side of the busy highway.
Captain Marty Sellers told local media Thursday evening the suspect and victim had previously been in a romantic relationship.

Sellers went on to say that after evidence was collected and witnesses interviewed, Tuscaloosa County resident Terek Herron-Antone, 32, was identified as a suspect and later charged. He is currently being held in the Tuscaloosa County Jail with bond set at $150,000. He is charged with murder and felon in possession of a firearm.

"At this time we have not been able to determine a motive," Sellers said. "We are continuing to work on the case and gather information."
Investigators did, however, pointed out that Herron-Antone also has pending charges that are not related to the murder investigation.
According to court documents obtained by Patch on Thursday, Herron-Antone was also convicted in connection to a shooting in December 2012 at a Mapco gas station on Oscar Baxter Drive that left one man critically injured. In that case, investigators believe he drove the vehicle involved in the shooting and provided a gun to one of the shooters.
He would go on to plead guilty to possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and was sentenced to 71 months in prison.
