Here's what Nate Oats had to say Thursday after the No. 2 Crimson Tide defeated Auburn in overtime to clinch the SEC regular season title.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — It's been a season of ups and downs for the No. 2 Alabama men's basketball team (26-4, 16-1 SEC), but Tide coach Nate Oats and the team saw so much hard work pay off Wednesday night with an overtime win over Auburn to clinch the program's second Southeastern Conference regular season title in three years.

"It was especially special tonight, to do it in front of our fans," Oats said following the game. "They were great tonight. I really want to thank our fans for all their support. They brought the energy and fueled that run in the second half."

The Crimson Tide will close out the regular season Saturday, with an 11 a.m. tipoff in College Station against the No. 24 Texas A&M Aggies (22-8, 14-3 SEC).
