TUSCALOOSA, AL — Alabama football head coach Nick Saban took to the podium Wednesday evening as the No. 4 Crimson Tide prepares to host Middle Tennessee State Saturday in Bryant-Denny Stadium for its season opener.

Saban still gave no word on the ongoing quarterback battle, but did have high praise for redshirt freshman Ty Simpson when asked about his progression through camp. He also answered questions regarding redshirt freshman tight end Danny Lewis, Jr.
