West Alabama Prosecutor Tapped To Lead Alabama DA Association

TUSCALOOSA, AL — A West Alabama prosecutor has been tapped as the first Black president of the Alabama District Attorneys Association.

According to wire reports, District Attorney Michael W. Jackson — whose district covers Bibb, Dallas, Hale, Perry, and Wilcox counties — was sworn in last week for his one-year term.

Jackson, 57, has been a trailblazer in his field, as he was also the first African-American elected district attorney for the 4th Judicial Circuit.

The Alabama District Attorneys Association is a statewide professional organization made up of 42 women and men.
