Work On $4.3M Greensboro Avenue Improvement Project To Begin Next Week
The project is expected to be completed before the first home football game this fall.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Construction on a portion of Greensboro Avenue is set to begin Monday as part of a multimillion-dollar effort to improve pedestrian safety in downtown Tuscaloosa.

City officials said work will take place between University Boulevard and Seventh Street and is expected to be completed before the first home football game this fall.

The $4.3 million project, funded through Elevate Tuscaloosa, aims to enhance pedestrian access through wider sidewalks, added landscaping and other safety improvements.
Drivers should expect intermittent road and lane closures throughout the construction period.

Officials said pedestrian access to businesses along Greensboro Avenue will remain open.
