• 58-year-old casual restaurant chain closed 163 locations (thestreet.com) — Red Lobster has permanently closed its long-running Vestavia Hills location, part of a broader wave of 163 restaurant shutdowns tied to the chain's post-bankruptcy restructuring. The company is also closing additional Alabama sites in Montgomery and Huntsville, shrinking its national footprint as it sheds underperforming, high-rent leases and works to stabilize under new private-equity ownership.
