Traditional Learning Or Virtual: Vestavia Parent Survey Launched
Dr. Todd Freeman wants parents to complete a survey regarding preferences between virtual learning or traditional for the coming year.

VESTAVIA HILLS, AL — The 2020-2021 school year will begin in a matter of week, and Dr. Todd Freeman said he will have an update by early July on the opening of Vestavia Hills schools for the coming school year. This includes results from a parent survey he has launched regarding virtual learning vs. traditional learning.
The school system has posted a parent survey to indicate preference for the type of instructional delivery parents would prefer for their children: either traditional or virtual.

"Your responses do not obligate or commit you to either model," Freeman said. "We are asking you to complete this survey only to provide us with important preliminary information for planning."
The Traditional K-12 Model is defined as a traditional education platform for Vestavia Hills City Schools in which students attend physical classes at the school campus for which they are zoned.

The Virtual-Only K-12 Model is designed with the purpose of providing students who have the desire or need to avoid large crowds, risking exposure to COVID-19, an opportunity to further their education with Vestavia Hills City Schools in a non-traditional manner through a virtual-only platform provided by the Alabama State Department of Education.
Surveys must be completed by June 26.
As of Monday, the school system has approximately 86 percent of its students registered for the coming year. Any parents who have not registered their students for the school year can do so here.
