UAB Students Awarded William Jefferson Clinton Scholarships
A Vestavia resident was among a record number of UAB students awarded William Jefferson Clinton Scholarships.

BIRMINGHAM, AL - For the first time, seven University of Alabama at Birmingham students have all been awarded the William Jefferson Clinton Scholarship, giving them an opportunity to broaden their educational and cultural experience by studying in the Arab world. This was the highest number of UAB students ever to receive the honor.
Among those chosen was Vestavia Hills resident Wenyun Jiang , a philosophy major.
Ten United States students are selected for the program each semester. The program is designed to expose students to culture in the Middle East and places an emphasis on those who are interested in being exposed to the Arab world for the first time. Recipients of the Clinton Scholarship receive full tuition and housing for one term.
