Vestavia BOE Names New Student Services Director
The Vestavia Hills BOE hired VHCS Curriculum and Instruction Specialist Jennifer Bailey as the new director.

VESTAVIA HILLS, AL - The Vestavia Hills Board of Education on Monday approved the hiring of a new Director of Student Services. Jennifer Bailey, previously the Curriculum and Instruction Specialist at Vestavia Central, will take over the new role July 1.
Bailey has worked in VHCS for the past three years planning and coordinating hundreds of hours of professional development for the school system’s middle and high school teachers. As Curriculum and Instruction Specialist, Bailey led implementation of a three-year teacher mentoring program, helped teachers and administrators develop professional learning plans, and facilitated activities for the school system’s Teacher Leaders Cohort.
Bailey has worked in public schools for the past 15 years as an English teacher and led Peer Helper programs in the Shelby County school system to address student wellness and at-risk student intervention. She was a co-founder of the Central Alabama Peer Helper Association and has presented to peer program groups on the state and national level.
