Residents are urged to secure loose outdoor items, prepare for possible isolated power outages, and use extra caution on exposed stretches of the Sterling Highway and other open roads.

• Federal review advances for subsea data center off Nikiski (peninsulaclarion.com) — A proposed tidal-energy and subsea data center off Nikiski could bring a 100-megawatt underwater project and new power and fiber connections between offshore turbines and the Kenai industrial corridor. Federal regulators have accepted the application for study, prompting public comment and concern from state and Kenai officials who say they've had little direct contact with the developer so far.
