• NRECA, Co-ops Receive $232M for Grid Upgrades in Third Round of DOE GRIP Program (electric.coop) — Benson residents' power reliability is set to improve as Arizona Electric Power Cooperative, headquartered in Benson, secures federal SPARK funding to reconductor transmission lines and upgrade substation equipment. The project is part of a nationwide grid-resilience push, aiming to boost transmission capacity while supporting rural economic growth and keeping electricity service more dependable for local homes and businesses.
