• Community pushback holds up a proposed copper mine on the Navajo Nation (knau.org) — Residents of the Coppermine Chapter, about 20 miles from Page, have again voted to reject a proposed copper mine, effectively stalling the Copper Mesa Project for now. Community members cite health, environmental, and grazing-land concerns, while the mining company argues the project could bring jobs, infrastructure improvements, and significant payments to both the chapter and the Navajo Nation.
