1. First Friday A.R.T.S. Market

Where: Roosevelt Row – Downtown Phoenix
Located right along Roosevelt Row, this Adaptive Reuse of Temporary Space (A.R.T.S.) Market draws thousands of folks monthly. You’ll connect with Arizona artists and find handmade crafts, fine art and vintage items, along with food vendors and pop-up galleries. You can safely stroll RoRo, enjoy a bite, while enjoying live music and art.

2. Maricopa County Fair

When: April 3 -5 and April 9 - 12; Times vary by day

Where: Arizona Exposition & State Fairgrounds, 1826 West McDowell Road, Phoenix

Spend a day at the fair with your family or friends. Ride the rides, eat a corn dog and some funnel cake, listen to music and check out the fair exhibit building for the creative and livestock competition entries. The fair has many family-friendly activities for all ages.

3. Downtown Phoenix Farmers Market

When: Saturdays starting the third Saturday in May through the second Saturday in October, 7:30 - 11:30 a.m.; Check for updates

Where: 455 N. 3rd St.

Grab your tote bag for all the organic and locally produced food you can carry. The market boasts seasonal local food and products. Shoppers support community farmers and small businesses at this urban market.

4. Viva Phoenix

When: April 15 - 20

Where: Various locations in Downtown Phoenix

This music festival’s goal is to bring music, talent and culture to downtown Phoenix. The festival was once held during one afternoon, but now goes on for days. And many of the shows are free. The festival was founded in 2014 to spotlight the emerging Downtown Phoenix music scene. The event draws locals and visitors alike.

5. Soundcheck Live Music Series

When: Every Third Thursday, 6 - 7 p.m.

Where: Phoenix Art Museum, 1625 N. Central Ave.

Leave the day behind and explore the museum’s galleries ahead of the show, access is included in the ticket price. Plan a night out with friends or grab a drink and chill as you listen to local and regional musical acts.

6. First Friday Night at the Children’s Museum of Phoenix

When: First Fridays, 5 - 9 p.m.

Where: Children’s Museum of Phoenix, 215 N. 7th St.

On First Fridays the museum opens to the community for free. Enjoy a night at the museum and take a tour of the exhibits and experiences, designed to invite curiosity and activate imaginations. This is a chance for kids and grown ups to play and have fun.
