AZ Coronavirus: Air Force Flyover To Honor Essential Workers

LUKE AIR FORCE BASE, AZ — Luke Air Force Base and the Arizona Air National Guard will honor Arizona's front-line workers with a community flyover Friday. The flyover will include members of the 56th and 144th Fighters Wings, and the National Guard's 161st Air Refueling Wing.

Starting at about 3:10 p.m., a formation of 15 aircraft will fly out of Luke Air Force Base. The flyover is expected to last about 50 minutes.

The flight path will bring the fighter jets through the Phoenix metro area and other communities including Buckeye, Luke Air Force Base, Litchfield Park, Surprise, Waddell, Goodyear, Tolleson, Tempe, Chandler, Gilbert, Mesa, Scottsdale, Deer Valley, Glendale, Peoria, Sun City West and El Mirage. Residents should expect a few seconds of jet noise as the aircraft pass overhead.

Residents are encouraged to watch the flyover from the safety of their homes and should maintain social distancing guidelines throughout the event.
