GoFundMe Page Created To Aid Search For Missing Phoenix Woman

PHOENIX, AZ —The sons of a missing Phoenix woman have created a GoFundMe page to help pay for the search for their elderly mother.

Roberta "Bobbie" Braden, 80, was last seen near the intersection of South 31st Way and East Caldwell Street in South Phoenix on May 1. Braden suffers from Alzheimer's disease and "may not even realize she is lost," according to her sons Derek and Justin.

The sons have started a website and Facebook page to get the word out about the search for their mother.

On Wednesday, they also revealed a GoFundMe page, and said donations will help fund search resources like: drones, electronic billboard rentals, a dedicated field coordinator, color flyers and scent-tracking dogs.

"The community response has been amazing. But Phoenix is huge and we need so many more resources to help find her across such a large area," Derek and Justin wrote on the GoFundMe page.

As of Thursday afternoon, the page had raised $41,908 of its $50,000 goal.

The sons also said that when Bobbie Braden is found, the remaining funds will be donated fully to the Alzheimer's Association.

Also on Wednesday, the Phoenix Police Department issued an update to its Missing Person's Report. In addition to indicating that Braden is 5-foot-6 and 150 pounds, and has brown hair and green eyes, the department added details about the clothing Braden was wearing when she disappeared.

According to the department, Braden had on a black and white shirt, black or dark color shorts and white shoes. The PPD even posted a photo of someone in that clothing.
