Here are the top three stories today in Phoenix:
- Police are searching for a man who brutally assaulted a Cricket Wireless employee before robbing the store of phones and cash. Surveillance footage captured the assault and escape. Police are asking anyone with information to come forward. The suspect was last seen running westbound on Bethany Home Road. (FOX 10 News Phoenix)
- Arizona has identified its first suspected case of monkeypox. The patient is a man in his late 30s and is currently recovering in isolation, according to the Maricopa County Health Department. According to the World Health Organization, more than two dozen countries have reported 780 cases since late May. Thus far, 20 cases have been recorded across 11 states in the U.S. (Patch)
- A woman is in critical condition after being hit by a car in west Phoenix early yesterday morning. According to police, the woman was struck near 51st Avenue and Pierson, which is just south of Camelback. The incident occurred around 4:00 a.m. Police say the vehicle was a dark-colored SUV. As of Tuesday evening, no other information is available. (Arizona's Family)
