Downtown Phoenix YMCA to close amid demolition request (azpbs.org) — Downtown Phoenix is losing its longtime Lincoln Family Downtown YMCA on Sept. 30, closing its gym, low-cost housing, and weekly food pantry that many residents rely on. A demolition request is pending, even as YMCA leaders pledge to reimagine the site and help current tenants relocate, while tenant advocates push for stronger protections and support.

SAFE Alert canceled: missing 72-year-old woman found (ktar.com) — A SAFE Alert issued from Phoenix for 72-year-old Yolanda Garcia has been canceled after she was found safe and reunited with her family. She was last seen Saturday morning near Durango Street and 99th Avenue, and officials remind residents that SAFE Alerts now replace Silver Alerts statewide for vulnerable missing adults.
