The closure was put in place due to concern that recent rain may have loosened rocks and boulders along the popular and heavily trafficked trails. The safety evaluation was completed Sunday afternoon. Parks and Recreation Department staff thank the hiking community for its patience during the closure and safety review process.

This is a busy time of year for the use of Phoenix's 200-plus miles of hiking trails. Phoenix Park Rangers and Fire Department want trail users to "Take a Hike. Do it Right." Important hiking safety guidelines and detailed information about the city's trail system can be found at Phoenix.gov/Parks/Trails.
