Phoenix Weather: Wet, Soggy Week Ahead
The Phoenix area this week could see a quarter of its average annual rainfall.
PHOENIX, AZ — We hate bringing bad news, but if rain isn't your cup of tea, you're in for a rough week in the Phoenix area, according to forecasts. This week will likely be comprised of a string of wet, soggy days, during which our area could see nearly a quarter of its total annual rainfall.
The Phoenix area should expect a total of two inches of rainfall this week, and areas north of the Valley can see totals approaching three inches, according to the National Weather Service.

Rain chances will remain at 50 percent or higher moving through this week with the greatest chance of rain Tuesday night into Wednesday. Showers and thunderstorms are expected Thursday, and after a period of lingering showers, the rain will likely be on its way by Friday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.

Phoenix area residents should be prepared for dangerous lighting and moderate flooding. A flood watch remains in effect for Tonto Creek.
