Scottsdale Offers May Kids Camp Beginning May 18

Scottsdale’s Parks and Recreation department will offer two weeks of a special May Kids Camp from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays May 18 – 22 and May 26 – 29.

Kids will participate in fun and exciting recreational activities including crafts, sports, games and much more. A morning and afternoon snack will be provided daily. A lunch with drink is required for all participants.

Note: Scottsdale is preparing to offer its usual Summer Camps for youth. Information about those programs will be shared in the coming weeks.

Limited spots are available for student entering 1st through 8th grades; with registration beginning 8 a.m. Friday, May 15.

May Kids Camp Registration dates and registration information:

May 18 – 22:
Mountain View Community Center, 1st – 5th graders, $125 for the week. Activity Code: 25176

May 26 - 29
Mountain View Community Center, 1st – 5th graders, $100 for the week. Activity Code 25177
Horizon Community Center, 1st – 5th graders, $100 for the week. Activity Code 25178
Horizon Community Center, 6th – 8th graders, $100 for the week. Activity Code 25179

Program Details

• Participants will be broken up into groups of 10 kids, with 1 staff per group
• Children should bring a water bottle, wear closed-toe shoes and have sunscreen applied upon drop off.

Important Information regarding program staff and participant safety:

• If a child is sick, he or she needs to stay home.
• Temperature screenings will take place for staff and participants before entering the building each day.
• If a child becomes ill during the program, they will be isolated and sent home.
• City staff will wear masks. Masks are not required for participants
• The city will provide hand wash stations and disinfectant wipes.
• Parents will drop off and pick up students at the door, and will not enter the buildings.
• Custodial staff will provide a nightly deep clean of our facilities, and recreation staff will clean throughout the day.

Scottsdale programs are not licensed childcare facilities under Arizona Revised Statutes Section 36-882. Programs are offered in a drop-in format. This means that youth are permitted to come and go as they wish, without signing in or out.

If your child has special needs relating to disability or medications, please contact Adaptive Recreation Services at 480-312-2234. Staff will discuss your child’s needs and determine appropriate accommodations. Children with disabilities are included into existing programs with their non-disabled peers.
