Loop 101 improvement project

The Arizona Department of Transportation has begun a project to widen and improve Loop 101 from Interstate 17 in Phoenix to Pima Road in Scottsdale. To learn more about the project and upcoming traffic restrictions, please visit the ADOT’s project webpage
, where you can also subscribe to project alerts. Following are upcoming restrictions:
- Loop 101 will be reduced to two lanes in each direction at Scottsdale Road 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. weeknights Dec. 2 - 13.
- Scottsdale Road will be closed in both directions at Loop 101 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. weeknights Dec. 2 - 13.
- Traffic in both directions on the Loop 101 between Scottsdale and Hayden roads will is shifted around a work zone in the freeway median while a new bridge is built over the future Miller Road extension. The traffic shift will be in place for approximately one year. There will be no reduction in travel lanes during the shift.
Multiple restrictions at Thomas Road and 64th Street through Dec. 19
Multiple restrictions will occur at the intersection of Thomas Road and 64th Street 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. weekdays Dec. 3 - 19 for utility work. Expect delays.
Hayden Road restrictions from McKellips Road to McDowell Road through Dec. 14
Northbound Hayden Road will be reduced to one lane from McKellips Road to McDowell Road 24 hours through Dec. 14 for gas line work. During those same dates, southbound Hayden Road will be reduced to one lane at Roosevelt Road 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
