Here are the top three stories today in Phoenix:

  1. Police are closing in on the cataclysmic converter of over 1,000 catalytic converters after discovering the stolen car parts in a storage unit on Thursday. The bust, which took place at a storage unit at 37th and Washington streets, was the result of a months-long investigation. According to police officials, the perpetrators were part of a scheme of buying and selling stolen car parts. (Arizona's Family)
  2. A man posted a video to Twitter threatening to "hunt" LGBTQ supporters in Phoenix. Ethan Schmidt, 24, has been banned multiple times from Facebook and Twitter for posting threatening content in the past, and the account used to post this video is only a month old. The Phoenix Police Department says they are aware of the threats and that detectives are looking into it. (Phoenix Patch)
  3. The construction of the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Factory is on track to start production in 2024 and is hiring now. The company is currently training 500 Arizona employees in Taiwan and plans to hire more in the near future. Installation of the major manufacturing tools is slated to begin in early 2023.
