Tuesday Weather: Severe Thunderstorm Watch Issued For Phoenix
The NWS in Phoenix predicts a slight chance that a storm system could bring heavy rain, wind gusts, and hail between 2 and 7 p.m.

PHOENIX, AZ — The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm watch until 8 p.m. Tuesday for the Phoenix metro area.
Pima County is serving as a sort of seeding area for the Watch, with storms that form here pushing quickly northward into the box area. Any storms we see will be strong, but it's less likely they will become severe, and coverage will be less than areas further N. #azwx https://t.co/jXJ0h1nkt6

The NWS in Phoenix predicts a storm system could bring heavy rain, wind gusts, and hail between 2 and 7 p.m. The storm system has "warm/unstable air and increased wind energy," the NWS said on Twitter, adding a "tornado or two" could be possible.
Thunderstorms likely today…some are likely to become severe. Main threats are strong wind gusts…as high as 70 mph. Large hail…up to 2 inches…and locally heavy rain that may lead to flooding. Can't completely rule out a tornado or two somewhere in South-Central AZ. #azwx pic.twitter.com/sldAldFddT
