Yavapai County Sheriff Responds To 'Meteor Event' On Sunday
The Yavapai County Sheriff's Office received several calls from all over the county Sunday morning about a loud explosion.

YAVAPAI COUNTY, AZ — The Yavapai County Sheriff's Office is attempting to find the source of a loud noise heard across Yavapai County around 7:20 a.m. Sunday morning, according to the sheriff department's Facebook page.
Yavapai County Sheriff's Office says dispatchers received many calls from all over the county regarding the loud explosion Sunday morning.
"So far some type of meteor event, as witnessed by numerous residents in the area, seems to be the best explanation for the loud boom heard earlier," said the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office Facebook page in an update given around 12:00 p.m. "YCSO has received no official explanation at this time."

The sheriff's department also confirmed with the Federal Aviation Administration that there was no jet travel in the area at the time.
The Yavapai County Sheriff's Office said it will continue to investigate.
