• Scattered storms hit parts of East Valley (ktar.com) — Parts of Queen Creek picked up some rain Monday night as scattered storms rolled through the East Valley, bringing gusty winds, dust and up to three-quarters of an inch in nearby areas. The National Weather Service says rain chances increase through Wednesday, with a strong possibility of localized heavy downpours, frequent lightning, and blowing dust that could affect local travel and outdoor plans. 
• When will State Route 24 finally be widened? (fresnobee.com) — If you drive between Queen Creek and the rest of metro Phoenix, expect major changes as State Route 24 is widened between Loop 202 and Ironwood Drive starting in late 2026 or early 2027. The $420 million project aims to handle booming traffic from Queen Creek's rapid growth, with construction lasting until about mid-2029 and bringing periodic closures.
