Free Summer Meal Packs Available For Scottsdale-Area Kids Through July
The district's summer meal pickup includes breakfasts and lunches for children 18 and under.
SCOTTSDALE, AZ — School is out, but Scottsdale Unified School District is making sure that does not mean kids go hungry.
The district is offering free weekly meal packs for children 18 and under every Wednesday morning through July 22 at Scottsdale Community College.
Each pack includes seven breakfasts and seven lunches, enough to cover a full week. No ID, no income verification and no proof of enrollment required.

Pickup runs from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the college's Far East Parking Lot, 9000 E. Chaparral Road. The process is drive-thru only, and children do not need to be in the car
. Meals are individually packaged, with milk provided in half-gallon jugs. One pack per child, per week, officials said.

Registration is required. Families can sign up through the district's online form before their first visit or use a mobile device to register on-site when they arrive.
The need behind the program is real. One in seven Arizonans struggles with food insecurity, including more than 291,000 children statewide.
Federal summer nutrition programs allow districts like Scottsdale Unified to provide free meals to all kids through age 18 regardless of household income once the school year ends.
