1. SkySong marks 20 years as meeting and collaboration hub in Scottsdale (arizonadigitalfreepress.com) — SkySong, ASU's Scottsdale Innovation Center, is marking 20 years as a major hub for meetings, innovation, and jobs in south Scottsdale's McDowell Road Corridor. Hosting thousands of events and visitors annually, the 42-acre mixed-use campus now anchors nearby restaurants, hotels, and housing while deepening ties between ASU, local employers, and the surrounding community.
   

2. Westin Kierland Resort files third application to convert golf course into homes (abc15.com) — A major redevelopment push at the Westin Kierland's Mesquite Golf Course near the Scottsdale–Phoenix border could replace open fairways with new housing, and nearby residents are mobilizing hard against it. The latest rezoning proposal, Copper Residences, would keep two courses but convert one into homes, townhomes, condos, or apartments, triggering a review process that will run through Phoenix planning bodies and ultimately the City Council.
   

3. Varsity Volleyball - Girl's Scores for August 29, 2026 (azpreps365.com) — Scottsdale volleyball fans can check how Scottsdale Prep's girls varsity team fared in multiple August 29 matchups, including contests against ALA–Vistancia, Maryvale Prep, and Shonto Prep. The roundup also lists results for several other Arizona schools, giving a quick snapshot of how regional rivals performed on the same day.
   

4. Newly surfaced video shows Arizona candidate handcuffed in 2020 traffic stop (azfamily.com) — Body camera footage from a 2020 stop by Scottsdale police shows officers briefly handcuffing Alexander Kolodin, now a state representative and candidate for Arizona secretary of state, after pulling over a car with no visible plates. Officers found a firearm belonging to the driver and later cited Kolodin only for civil littering, while he maintains he tossed out ice, not an alcoholic drink container.
