Historic Scottsdale Restaurant Old Town Tortilla Factory Closing After 30 Years

SCOTTSDALE, AZ — A longtime Old Town Scottsdale restaurant is closing after nearly 30 years in business.

Old Town Tortilla Factory, a Southwestern restaurant at 6910 E. Main St., announced this week that it is shutting down after serving generations of diners in the heart of Old Town.

Opened in 1996, the restaurant became known for its Southwestern menu, special-occasion dinners and distinctive setting inside an 85-year-old adobe home. Its shaded outdoor patio, lined with pecan trees and greenery, also made it a favorite spot for birthdays, date nights and family gatherings.

In a message to guests, the restaurant thanked the community for its support over the years and described the closure as the end of an era.

“Old Town Tortilla Factory has decided to close after three decades of serving Scottsdale,” the restaurant wrote. “It is with much gratitude that we say goodbye to our restaurant that has been a gathering place for celebrations, special occasions, family dinners, date nights, and countless memories.”

The restaurant did not give a reason for the closure or say what may replace it.

Owner Chad Flaum purchased the business five years after it opened and helped carry it through its final years.

The closure adds to a string of recent restaurant changes across Scottsdale, including Corso Italia in Gainey Ranch, which appeared to shut down without warning, and Zinqué at Scottsdale Fashion Square, which also closed as a new concept prepares to move in.
