Scottsdale Canal Drowning Determined Accidental: Police
Bobby Cuillo went missing in Scottsdale July 17 and his body was found two days later.
SCOTTSDALE, AZ — Robert “Bobby” Cuillo died in an accidental drowning, according to the Maricopa County Medical Examiner.
Cuillo, 23, went missing July 17 from the Old Town entertainment area of Scottsdale and his body was found July 19 in the canal near the intersection of Scottsdale and Camelback roads, police said in a news release.
Cuillo's blood alcohol content was above the legal limit to operate a vehicle, police said.

Based on GPS data from the scooter Cuillo was riding on the night he disappeared, police believe he drove the scooter into the canal north of Chaparral Road. Police do not believe there was any foul play.
