Here are the top stories today in Scottsdale:
- A mountain lion was caught on video drinking water from the swimming pool at a north Scottsdale home. Kimberly Weeldreyer and her husband live near Happy Valley and Alma School roads at the base of Troon Mountain, where homes were "just built within the last few years." Weeldreyer said she will be laying by her pool "with one eye closed and one eye open" after spotting the uninvited guest. Check out the video at the link! (FOX 10 News Phoenix)
- As children get ready to return to school in August, Vista Del Camino's Back-to-School programs needs your donations. The students are in need of "new clothing, socks, underwear, shoes, backpacks and school supplies." The program supports "income-eligible, Scottsdale-based students, kindergarten through 12th grade," and provides "essential school supplies to more than 1,000 students each year." Consider donating money or items to support these students. (City of Scottsdale)
- Puttshack officially opened on June 14 at Scottsdale Quarter after two years of construction. Guests can enjoy "36 custom-made, high-tech" mini golf holes spread across two floors, "globally inspired street food," and unique cocktails. This Scottsdale location features the "Chicken Chimichanga Tailpipe" and donates "$1 from each order of tailpipes to the Southwest Wildlife Conservation Center in northern Scottsdale." (Scottsdale Progress)
