Here are the top three stories in Scottsdale today:
- Scottsdale Unified School District Governing Board has issued a June 2022 update to the community. According to the statement, 92 employees will be retiring from the district this month. The update also reports that the board took many steps to improve systems to ensure fiscal accountability for the future. Click the link to read the full community update. (SUSD.org)
- Former University of Arizona cornerback DaVonte' Neal has been arrested after a Maricopa County grand jury issued an indictment last month. Neal is currently being held at Bannock County Jail without bail. He has been charged with first-degree murder, drive-by-shooting, and discharging a firearm at a structure during the death of Bryan T. Burns in 2017. (AZ Family)
- A recent investigation has revealed that Maricopa County's superintendent Kristi Wilson was given a $1.7 million bonus between 2017 and 2021. The bonus was paid through taxpayer funds and was issued on an undisclosed basis. Wilson reportedly made $3.3 million over the last five fiscal years with a base salary of $189,000. (10 WJAR)
