- A Scottsdale ambulance and a car collided on Friday, sending four people to the hospital. A Scottsdale firefighter was one of the injured, and he was inside the emergency vehicle when it rolled over. The events leading up to the crash are still being investigated, but the Scottsdale Police Department reports that the victims sustained non-life-threatening injuries. (Arizona's Family)
- A short-term rental property in Scottsdale had $5.4 million worth of guns and drugs, which were found during cleanup after a recent rental. The property, "near 86th Street and Camelback Road," contained approximately 20 weapons, "1.7 million fentanyl pills, 110 pounds of methamphetamine and 7.5 pounds of cocaine." Though no arrests were made, the owner of the rental is cooperating with the investigation. (12news.com KPNX)
- An agreement between Scottsdale and Maricopa County for an interim solution to provide water to Rio Verde Foothills was rejected by the Arizona House of Representatives (HB2561). The same agreement was rejected by the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors earlier in March, with concerns due to Scottsdale not identifying the source of the water, limiting the amount of water usage, and increasing water costs. Stakeholders will meet next week to discuss a solution. (ABC15 Arizona in Phoenix)
- The family of Scottsdale Special Olympian Scott Harkness donated $23,000 to the City of Scottsdale Adaptive Services Special Olympics program. Scott, who was "tragically shot and killed in February 2022 while walking home near Camelback and Hayden roads," was a "part of the Scottsdale Special Olympics for about 17 years." The city decided to use the funds to purchase new uniforms for each athlete. (ABC15 Arizona)
- The "Scottsdale Unified School District has approved a settlement and release of claims as part of a multi-district lawsuit against Juul Labs Inc. for its manufacturing and distribution of electronic cigarettes and vapes." (Daily Independent/paywall)
