Here are the top stories in Scottsdale today:

  1. Scottsdale gas prices are on the rise, with additional incremental increases expected. Prices "jumped 15 cents in the last week to $4.96 for a gallon of regular," officially making gas prices "66 cents more a gallon than they were at this time last month." The main reason cited is rising oil prices, with oil currently priced around $80 per barrel. Arizona saw the largest gas price increase in the country, with an increase of 18 cents putting the statewide average at $4.52 per gallon. The national average cost per gallon is currently $3.64. 2. Sugo Bistro, an original "Italian scratch kitchen," will open Saturday, April 29. In SOHO Scottsdale at 16580 N 92nd Street, #100, the restaurant will feature "made-from-scratch dishes including wood fired pizzas, handmade pastas and fresh bruschetta boards, in a comfortable, neighborhood atmosphere." Guests can also expect Italian-themed cocktails, Italian wines and a large patio complete with a fire pit. Mamma mia! (AZ Big Media)
  3. The Old Town Candy & Toys store offers customers a nostalgic experience! Customers of all ages can enjoy "about 130 choices of bulk candy... tons of toys and a lot of books." Other items include wooden toys, lunch boxes, socks, oven mitts, stuffed animals and Arizona souvenirs. According to owners Steve and Jeanine Rometty, their 11 years of fine-tuning resulted in the store offering unique items that can't be found in big department stores. (scottsdale.org)
