Here are the top stories today in Scottsdale:

  1. In preparation for expected significant cuts to the city's water supply, Scottsdale continues to bank water. Although the city recharges approximately 10,000 acre-feet of water per year and has 246,911 acre-feet of banked water, its water storage efforts may not necessarily be ahead of other cities. With concerns around the Colorado River mounting, Scottsdale's water-banking approach may be wise. (Scottsdale Progress)
  2. The Scottsdale Memorial for the Fallen was officially dedicated on Saturday. The ceremony, held on the newly designated Memorial Lawn on the east side of City Hall, honored 66 fallen United States military members who lived in Scottsdale and nearby Native American communities. A new page on the City of Scottsdale's website is now dedicated to the memorial and contains links to individual fallen heroes' stories. (Daily Independent/paywall, City of Scottsdale).
  3. The Scottsdale Veterans Advisory Commission will honor Vietnam veterans with a special event on National Vietnam Veterans Day. Beginning at 5:30 p.m. March 29, guests can head to the 360 Stage at Scottsdale Civic Center (3939 N. Drinkwater Blvd.) to enjoy food, live music and the opportunity to meet and thank local Vietnam veterans. (City of Scottsdale)
