Here are the top stories in Scottsdale today:

  1. Two individuals are in custody after a stabbing escalated into a police standoff on Sunday near Goldwater Avenue and Scottsdale Road. The incident "began as an aggravated assault investigation" and turned into "a barricade situation at the Extended Stay America Hotel." One individual had non-life-threatening injuries from the stabbing, but no further details have been released. (FOX 10 News Phoenix)
  2. There was a three-car accident near Raintree Drive and Loop 101 this weekend. Seven individuals were injured, and one individual was transported to the hospital. The details of what led to the crash are still unknown. (NewsBreak)
  3. Costs of city pool use and other services will increase, effective July 1. Due to "exponential increases in operational costs," this "swimflation" will result in an "increase [in] drop-in rates by $1 for lap swim, fitness center and public swim." Costs of tennis court use, tennis court tournaments, and field rentals will also increase. However, sand volleyball tournament rates, which are currently $12, will be free. (East Valley Tribune)
  4. Western Spirit: Scottsdale's Museum of the West has announced two contemporary Western art exhibitions that will debut together this month. Check out "Andy Warhol: Cowboys & Indians" and "Billy Schenck: Myth of the West" starting June 20. Reserve your tickets online. (Western Spirit: Scottsdale's Museum of the West)
