Here are the top stories today in Scottsdale:

  1. Which came first: the chicken, the egg, or... the shrimp? A Scottsdale home was vandalized with raw shrimp, chicken, and eggs earlier this year. Michael Bigler and his roommate Theo Peles awoke one morning to find their home and vehicles covered in the raw foods, but there were no known suspects and no permanent damage. The roommates have since installed cameras in hopes to ward off any additional smelly and pricey vandalism. (KJZZ.org)
  2. Speaking of chicken... The Crack Shack is set to open in Scottsdale next January! This Southern California-based fried chicken restaurant will open at 8980 E. Shea Blvd. and offer a full bar, dine-in, take out, catering, and delivery. Check out what to expect on their menu! (AXIOS)
  3. The Scottsdale Police Department is seeking assistance from the public to identify a possible witness and associated vehicle in a shooting case. In the early morning on May 5, someone fired a weapon inside a black truck near Cholla Street and Scottsdale Road. Please submit any information about the individual or the vehicle to 480-312-8477 or 480-312-5000. (12news.com KPNX)
  4. The Valley of the Sun JCC is hosting a summer camp for children of "all backgrounds, faiths, and abilities" entering grades K-10. The program, called "Shemesh Camp," runs from May 30 through Aug. 4 and "offers a wide range of activities that include swim lessons, sports, art lessons, archery, STEM programming, tween adventures, and more." To register, visit vosjcc.org/shemesh or call 480-634-4949. (Subscription: Daily Independent)
