Here are the top three stories today in Scottsdale:
- The Scottsdale Police Department is focusing its efforts on safety belt and child restraint laws. The department will be enforcing and bringing awareness to the child safety laws. If you are unsure about your child restraint, schedule a child safety seat inspection with the City of Scottsdale at this link. (City of Scottsdale)
- The City of Scottsdale has proposed a budget of $23.3 million for a new state-of-the-art fire-police department training facility to replace the Scottsdale Fire Department's current undersized, outdated facility. According to the City, the new facility will accommodate its police and fire departments and "maintain pace with technological and legal changes within the law enforcement community." It will also allow Scottsdale to hold its own fire academies and train up to 32 new recruits at a time. (Scottsdale.org)
- Scottsdale Fire Department crews responded to a large apartment fire in Phoenix late Sunday night. The crews assisted Phoenix and Glendale crews during the three-alarm blaze near Cave Creek and Bell roads. Two people suffered injuries during the incident. The fire is currently under investigation to find the main cause. (ABC 15)
