Here are the top stories in Scottsdale today:

  1. Scottsdale authorities rescued a woman from a mountain at Pinnacle Peak Park on Thursday. The woman was "free-climbing by herself when her leg got twisted between two large boulders on a 50-foot steep cliff." After she tried to get out of the predicament for over an hour and half, another hiker heard her calls for help and dialed 911. Scottsdale Technical Rescue crews lifted the woman out from between the boulders using "leverage and water solution," and Scottsdale Paramedics provided dehydration treatment and transportation to a local hospital for "non-life-threatening injuries." Scottsdale Fire officials remind citizens of safety tips to help prevent such situations, like letting someone know where you're hiking and taking a charged cell phone with you. (FOX 10 News Phoenix)
  2. Dr. Daniel Gold, the Scottsdale dentist accused of multiple felonies, "self-reported his felony charges related to fraud, burglary, and identity theft" to the Arizona State Board of Dental Examiners. Gold is still allowed to practice because he hasn't been convicted, but patients expressed concerns about the safety of their identities and protection of their personal information previously shared with the Scottsdale Dental Center. 3. Strap on your rollerblades, dust off your leg warmers and acid-washed denim, and head over to the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess this summer! From Memorial to Labor Day, the resort and spa is hosting "Let's Roll," an ode to nostalgia for the '80s and '90s. Guests can enjoy roller skating, laser tag, neon golf, retro video games, drive-in movies, fireworks every Saturday night, and a '90s-inspired water aerobics class every Friday and Saturday. And don't worry — the annual Independence Day Freedom Fest is still on the agenda, a four-day celebration with live concerts, fireworks and military fly overs. (Arizona Big Media)
  4. Royse Contemporary in Scottsdale is featuring the artwork of Gennaro Garcia, the co-owner of Taco Chelo in downtown Phoenix. Garcia took photographs of loved ones and "gave the works a modern Mexican art spin" for his exhibition, "Mexicanismo," which runs through May 14.
