• As U of A enrollment drops, four dorms close for 2026-27 (tucson.com) — University of Arizona enrollment is dropping even as its freshman acceptance rate rises, and a local business owner stresses the school's role as Tucson's largest employer and economic engine. With fewer applications across all student groups, community members are questioning how UA will keep attracting top students while protecting jobs and neighborhood businesses that depend on campus activity. 
• Arizona DPS Helicopter Hoists 15-Year-Old Boy After Fall Into Carr Canyon (aero-news.net) — A 15-year-old boy was airlifted to a Tucson trauma center in critical condition after falling nearly 30 feet at Carr Canyon Falls during Friday's monsoon weather. Ground evacuation was impossible, so an Arizona DPS helicopter hoisted him from the canyon while local fire and Cochise County rescue teams coordinated care. Officials warn that the scenic falls can be extremely dangerous, especially when rocks are wet.
