The small demonstration focused on solidarity, campus accountability, and how universities handle sexual misconduct, bringing a national case into local conversation as legal and criminal proceedings continue.
   

2. Keeping things spicy: Chinese Chorizo Festival kicks off it's fifth edition with a little heat (kgun9.com) — Tucson food lovers can dive into the Chinese Chorizo Festival now through November 22, with dozens of local restaurants showcasing dishes built around this uniquely Tucson-born ingredient. The event highlights the city's Chinese and Mexican immigrant history, donates chorizo to participating eateries, and invites residents to explore rotating weekend menus across town.
   

3. Andrea Behlers Killed in Tucson Pedestrian Crash on East Golf Links Road (pacificattorneygroup.com) — Tucson police have identified 52-year-old Andrea Lynn Behlers as the pedestrian killed after being struck while crossing East Golf Links Road outside a crosswalk on October 2. Tucson Fire transported her to a hospital, where she later died, and investigators say the driver stayed at the scene and showed no signs of impairment as the case remains under review.
   

4. Idling Cars Quietly Turn Parking Garages into Heat Traps, Pilot Study Finds (scienmag.com) — Researchers at the University of Arizona in Tucson found that idling gasoline cars in a covered garage measurably raise both air temperature and heat stress right where people walk and wait. Their pilot study, done during a Sonoran Desert summer morning, shows how everyday idling in drive-throughs, garages, and pickup zones can quietly worsen already dangerous local heat, with implications for street and transit design here.
   

5. Man with Self-Inflicted Wounds Found Following Welfare Check (thunder981.com) — A man with a serious self-inflicted chest wound in Sierra Vista was stabilized locally, then flown to a Tucson trauma center for further care. Police say the incident was isolated, with no ongoing threat to the public, and encourage anyone struggling with self-harm to reach out to the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline for help.
