• Update on Cactus State rate increase (kyma.com) — If you live in Tierra Mesa Estates or Rancheros Bonitos, your steep Cactus State water rate hikes and ongoing uranium concerns are drawing fresh scrutiny from Arizona's attorney general and regulators. Yuma County supervisors have asked state commissioners to meet with affected residents, and a new rate case and treatment plant are being discussed to address both costs and water safety.
• AWC, Taiwanese universities partner to create manufacturing talent pipeline (yumasun.com) — Arizona Western College is teaming up with three Taiwanese universities to train students for semiconductor manufacturing, aiming to attract high-tech industry and jobs directly to Yuma. The partnership promises exchanges, new curriculum, and hands-on training so local students—from Yuma to San Luis and Somerton—can access cutting-edge careers without leaving the region.
