UACCB launches scholarship for first responders, public servants (whiterivernow.com) — First responders and public servants in and around Batesville now have access to UACCB's new Public Service and Safety Scholarship, which helps cover tuition based on course load. Eligible full-time workers—from law enforcement and firefighters to road crews and state parks staff—can receive renewable aid for up to five semesters by enrolling and verifying employment each year. 
2. Batesville church shutters daycare program (kait8.com) — Families in Batesville are scrambling for childcare after Bright Beginnings Daycare, run by White Drive Baptist Church, abruptly closed in mid-September, displacing about 150 children. Coach Ryan Morrow praised the comeback effort and says all season goals remain intact as Batesville, now 2-2, heads to Paragould tonight seeking a bounce-back win.
