Can't Slow Down the Chargers

The stormy weather didn't stop the Chargers from close matches and big match-ups.

Here's an update for Chargers sports. Note: Some matches may be canceled due to inclement weather.

Boy's Tennis:

  • Last week the team had two big matches. They defeated Moorpark High School, but lost to Calabasas. Their overall record to date is 4-2 and their league record is 2-1. They played Newbury Park High School yesterday and their next matchup is Thursday against Westlake High School. 

Baseball:

  • In their second league game on Friday, the Varsity team beat Calabasas High School 5-2 with a strong performance by Rhet Montana who singled in the seventh inning scoring Justin Cana. The Chargers scored in three innings to claim the victory: one run in the second, two runs in the thirds and two in the seventh. Their overall record is 3-4. The Junior Varsity team beat Calabasas 7-2, bringing their record to 2-4, while the freshman team lost 0-4, falling to 4-2 overall. The Varsity and Frosh/Soph teams play at Simi Valley High School today starting at 3:30 p.m. The Junior Varsity plays at home at 3:30 p.m. 

Girl's Lacrosse:

  • The girl's play Thousand Oaks today at home starting at 5 p.m. They defeated Oak Park last week, 11-7. Talia Fiance has three goals; Jackie Adelsberg and Beth Maiman each had two; and Hangameh Kamali, Melissa Sheret, Kayln Sheret and Celidh Kempton each had one. Emelie East was the ground ball leader with ten. Goalie Jackie Hollander registered 11 clutch saves on 20 shots. They also play Birmingham Carter Thursday.

  • The Varsity and Junior Varsity teams both have games against Thousand Oaks High School today. The JV game starts at 6 p.m. and the Varsity at 7:30 p.m. Both games are away. Their next match-up is at home on Friday against Malibu High School. 

Boy's Golf:

  • The team has a match today against Calabasas High School starting at 1 p.m. at Malibu. They face Oaks Christian on Monday and Moorpark High School on Tuesday. 

Girl's Softball:

  • The Lady Chargers played Newbury Park High School Tuesday and take on Westlake High School Thursday at 3:30 p.m. They lost 3-2 last week against Calabasas.

Boy's Volleyball:

  • The Varsity game against Thousand Oaks High School is away today starting at 6 p.m. The Frosh/Soph games starts at 3:30 p.m and the Junior Varsity game starts at 4:30 p.m. Last weekend in the Dos Pueblos Invitational, they beat Laguna Blanca High School 2-0.
