Kids can create imaginative costumes, decorate their tricycles and wagons and then take part in the Conejo Valley Days (CVD) children’s parade, Saturday, May 13 at Conejo Creek Park North in Thousand Oaks (behind the Thousand Oaks Library). The parade is sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Thousand Oaks.
Parade participation is open to children from pre-school through third grade. Western costumes are encouraged. Participants will be divided by age (with the youngest children lined up first).

Check-in begins at 10:00 a.m. at the Willowbend Pavilion with the parade at 11:00 a.m. It will travel approximately 1/2 mile along the library roadway and end at the park’s memorial fountains.
Each parade participant will receive two free Conejo Valley Days passes, with early admission to the carnival right after the parade. CVD takes place across Janss Road at Conejo Creek Park South. As soon as the parade is over, a CVD festival bus will transport everyone across Janss Road to CVD for early entrance. Families can also drive themselves to the festival.

“The parade is a fun way for kids to dress up and be part of a community tradition,” says Chuck Huffer, Kiwanis member and parade co-chair. “The Conejo Valley Days children’s parade was started way back when CVD first began. It was revised last year and it received a great response.”
